Grades A through F
The four parts add up to a score out of 100, and the score sets the grade. A is highest, F is lowest.
| Grade | Score | Verdict | What it usually means |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 80–100 | Excellent choice | Every nutrient we could read is within its limit. |
| B | 66–79 | Good choice | One thing is a little high, the rest is fine. A good everyday pick. |
| C | 50–65 | Reasonable choice | Two things are on the high side. Fine sometimes, not every day. |
| D | 34–49 | Watch the portion | One nutrient is over the limit. Keep portions small. |
| E | 20–33 | High in the wrong things | Two nutrients are over the limit. Best as an occasional treat. |
| F | 0–19 | Best kept rare | Three or more nutrients are over the limit, or it breaks a food-safety rule. |
A product’s own page may word its verdict differently where its label calls for it, and it always shows its own reasons.
Not graded yet
You still see the product. A product with no grade shows “Grade soon”, and it may be held because something on the pack couldn’t be read or is being checked against the pack image. Single-ingredient foods such as dal, rice, atta, oil and salt have nothing on the pack to grade against, and the verdict says so.
